I have always loved to capture and treasure moments that reach somewhere within me and alter a part of me. Life has always amazed me and fascinated me, in all its forms. It has stirred me to greater heights and higher goals. It is these moments that I have tried to arrest my Scapes; these make and beautify my world. .
As an amateur, I capture just about anything that makes me turn, look and introspect. Unlike a professional, I do not carry thousands of dollars worth of lenses, invest hours taking pictures, or days in post processing in front of the computer. My processing them is only to the point it strikes a connection to what I saw and how I imbibed it. How the moment touched my heart and made an instant connect.
This blog is an attempt to share with you all these precious moments that reached somewhere within me. These pictures took me to the realms that I had hitherto not discovered. They made me admire life, sometimes pushed me into a kaleidoscope of contradictory thoughts and at other times made my heart bleed. Looking at these pictures immediately transports me to that world—the visual, aural and tactile images come alive once again—and make me a part of that scape. And I re-live these moments again.
So who am I? Perhaps that’s the most difficult estimation to make. However, briefly, I was brought up in Baroda( or Vadodara) in India. I finished my Med School and moved to USA for further training. My wife is a talented artist/print-maker, and a strong critic of my photography. Currently I am a fellow in Infectious Diseases in a Manhattan Hospital. Besides enjoying my life/work as a doctor, I take keen interest in technology and computer science. I must warn I am a die hard ANDROID fan! As a child growing up, big cities fascinated me, but I was never fond of them. Now I am here in NYC. A lot of my images will be from NYC, and you will see me expressing my biased love for this amazing manmade marvel as I may like to call it. So be prepared for that.
The reason for this blog? It’s an attempt to immortalize these scapes, and share a part of me with the world. And through these interactions better myself both as a photographer and more importantly at being a sensitive human being.
So my current artillery is a Canon EOS Rebel T4i with a stock 18-55mm lens and a Google Nexus 4 phone. Some of the older pictures were taken using a Nikon D5000, 18-55mm lens, 55-200mm lens. Post production software includes Adobe Photoshop, and the Apps Picasa, Camera Zoom Fx and Instagram.
I hope you enjoy this blog, and MyEyeScapes becomes YourEyeScapes too.
