It’s not just a windmill and a fiery backdrop

Light “the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to human beings” is probably one of the most undervalued part of nature. Consider not being able to see, or being in darkness all along, or on the flip side- seeing too much! over saturated colors and halos and beyond that. Just the perfect wavelength and everything is perceived the way it is supposed to. The eye is such a vital organ, but is virtually useless without light. Now imagine all the optics and refraction and laws of physics “the light” has to obey for this scape to develop!

The play of sunlight and the atmosphere is bedazzling. Especially during sunrise and sunset or when its cloudy, and the clear, powerful, beams of sunlight are suddenly turned into this melange of an amazing color palette. The shades of orange and reds, and the intermittent stream of clear rays getting through- the changing horizon is an absolute pleasure to ogle.

Capturing scapes during sunrise and sunset is some of my favorite moments working with my camera. The 30 mins I spend capturing the same scene 100s of times- as the sun transitions and does this play of colors, becomes a collection of pictures with ever changing horizon and fascinating colors. This picture to me is not just a windmill and a backdrop of fiery orange shades as the sun sets! Its the kind of image which throws me into this black hole of fascination of how nature works, what the rays of light had to pass through to produce these colors and how the human mind deciphered the laws of physics to understand what is at the core that creates such a marvelous scape. Enough said, will let you cherish the scape, without going deeper into my fascination for physics.
