The City undoubtedly has the best mix of architecture. Museums, churches, Pre war buildings to modern glass structures. Every time you turn your head there is this uninhibited variation in the buildings- its style, what the structure is made from, a gigantic sky scraper may be brushing shoulders with an old apartment- all sorts of buildings all clumped together. Every building has a certain character to them. It tells a lot about the time period it was made in. Many a times it represents the area you are in. This is a building I see from my work everyday. I absolutely love this building. The stone structure, the elegant carving, the stone pseudo-balcony, the curvy metal grill and the classic NYC water tank on top and the beautiful blue sky serves the perfect back drop.
Oh, btw In spring 2014 a NGO, is working to art-ify NYC’s water tank. check out http://www.thewatertankproject.org Excited to see the results!
