Two of my favorite images. Why? they symbolize a lot!

These two lights reaching up into the sky, beyond any other building, into the sky- for me they symbolize peace stands taller, peace defies time and peace is immortal. The light seems to reach into infinity, to eternity- a symbol of existence of the towers beyond material presence. I feel as if they say- We still stand tall, we will always be there. I think these lights talk of human spirit, a spirit which will exist beyond physical presence of a structure which defined it.

When I heard about the city’s plan of a memorial site, frankly I was not sure if the fountains were a fitting tribute. When I visited the memorial- I instantly fell in love with them. I do not know what was the concept or what they wanted to convey. For me the most touching part is that central square or hole where the water finally falls into. It defines infinity once again. It seems to go into the very core, into an immeasurable space.

So combine both these images- they make a fitting tribute. The Light extending into infinity into the sky(eternity) and the water falling into infinity(infinite depth). Hence I see these images as symbols of immortality of the towers, extending from the core to eternity.
